The Accelerated Reading program continues
to be an integral part of our fifth grade
curriculum in all subject areas. Students are
expected to read A.R. books both at home and
school during the school year.
In fifth grade, students will be setting their
own individual A.R. goals. Students are
required to read at lest one A.R. book each
month that is at or above their reading level.
The average of their monthly quizzes will be
taken as a grade at the end of each nine
weeks. It is the student's responsibility to
make sure they meet the requirements. If at
the end of each month a student hasn't taken
an A.R. quiz, a grade of 50% will be taken for
that month They may take tests in the
computer lab or during class when free time
allows.
Your child's teacher will go over goal setting
as it pertains to amount of points they hope to
achieve as we move through the year.
